Will a 77-inch TV fit your TV cabinet?

Cabinet width: how many fit
A TV can overhang a cabinet slightly if its feet sit near the middle, but the feet on many sets sit near the ends, and the spec tables read here don't give the distance between them. The safe reading is that the cabinet should be at least as wide as the TV. On that basis:
- A cabinet 68 in wide takes 13 of the 15 77-inch models.
- A cabinet 69 in wide takes 13 of the 15 77-inch models.
- A cabinet 70 in wide takes 14 of the 15 77-inch models.
- A cabinet 71 in wide takes 15 of the 15 77-inch models — all of them.
The narrowest on its stand is the LG OLED77C3AUA at 67.4 in; the widest is the Samsung QN77S95HAFXZA at 70.18 in. A cabinet narrower than 68 in suits the 75-inch class instead, whose bodies run 65.2–66.2 in (75-inch on a cabinet). The next class up, 83-inch, starts at 72.7 in (83-inch on a cabinet).
Depth of the cabinet top
Stand depth runs from 10.5 in on the LG OLED77C3AUA to 25.1 in on the LG OLED77T4PUA, a spread of 14.6 in. A shallow media console or a floating shelf is where this bites first: if the cabinet top is shallower than the stand, the feet hang off the front or back edge. In that case the TV belongs on the wall — the wall-size page for 77-inch TVs lists their bodies without the stand, which stand only 1–10.3 in deep.
What 77 inches means for furniture
A 75-inch set needs a long, low unit: 67.4 to 70.18 in of width, and a top deep enough for stands up to 25.1 in. Consoles sold "for TVs up to 75 inches" are usually sized for this, but check the actual top width against the table, because stand feet near the ends need the whole width.
Height inside a shelf or entertainment centre
On their stands these sets stand 39.88 to 64.3 in tall; the tallest is the LG OLED77T4PUA and the shortest the Sony K77XR80. Fitting the stand adds up to 22.98 in to the tallest body's height, because the feet lift the panel off the cabinet. For an enclosed opening, add a little room above the TV for air and for reaching the buttons and ports, and check the opening's depth too: a closed back panel can stop the feet from sitting where they need to.
