Will an 83-inch TV fit your TV cabinet?
Standing on its own feet, every 83-inch TV with a published size here fits a cabinet top 76 in wide and 15 in deep; the narrowest needs only 73 in. If the TV goes into an enclosed shelf, the opening has to be at least 47 in tall for the tallest of them on its stand.

83-inch TVs measured on their stands
The figures are each maker's "with stand" dimensions: overall width, height from the cabinet top to the top of the TV, and the depth of the stand's footprint, which is what has to sit on the cabinet. Sorted narrowest first. 6 other 83-inch models on VESA Fit have no published stand size and are not in this table.

Cabinet width: how many fit
A TV can overhang a cabinet slightly if its feet sit near the middle, but the feet on many sets sit near the ends, and the spec tables read here don't give the distance between them. The safe reading is that the cabinet should be at least as wide as the TV. On that basis:
- A cabinet 73 in wide takes 4 of the 5 83-inch models.
- A cabinet 74 in wide takes 4 of the 5 83-inch models.
- A cabinet 75 in wide takes 4 of the 5 83-inch models.
- A cabinet 76 in wide takes 5 of the 5 83-inch models — all of them.
The narrowest on its stand is the LG OLED83G5WUA at 72.7 in; the widest is the Samsung QN83S95HAEXZA at 75.2 in. A cabinet narrower than 73 in suits the 77-inch class instead, whose bodies run 67.4–70.18 in (77-inch on a cabinet). The next class up, 85-inch, starts at 73.9 in (85-inch on a cabinet).
Depth of the cabinet top
Stand depth runs from 12.6 in on the LG OLED83G5WUA to 14.53 in on the Samsung QN83S95HAEXZA, a spread of 1.93 in. A shallow media console or a floating shelf is where this bites first: if the cabinet top is shallower than the stand, the feet hang off the front or back edge. In that case the TV belongs on the wall — the wall-size page for 83-inch TVs lists their bodies without the stand, which stand only 1.05–1.77 in deep.
What 83 inches means for furniture
At 85 inches the TV is wider than most media consoles: 72.7 to 75.2 in on its stand, so the cabinet has to be at least 76 in long to keep the feet on top. The stands are also deep, up to 14.53 in, and the sets heavy enough (72.5–89.3 lb) that the cabinet's rated top load is worth checking.
Height inside a shelf or entertainment centre
On their stands these sets stand 43.9 to 46.13 in tall; the tallest is the Samsung QN83S95HAEXZA and the shortest the LG OLED83G5WUA. Fitting the stand adds up to 1.94 in to the tallest body's height, because the feet lift the panel off the cabinet. For an enclosed opening, add a little room above the TV for air and for reaching the buttons and ports, and check the opening's depth too: a closed back panel can stop the feet from sitting where they need to.
